Founded in the early 1900s, F+W is a publisher of special interest magazines and books in a broad variety of consumer enthusiast categories. The Company also operates book clubs, conferences, trade shows, Web sites and education programs, all focused on the same consumer hobbies and enthusiast subject areas where the magazines and book publishing programs specialize.

Through a combination of internal growth and acquisition, the Company has become one of the largest special interest publishers in the world. Since 1999, F+W has increased fourfold in revenues, while maintaining consistently strong profitability and offering a secure, collaborative culture for employees. The Company's mission is centered on providing customers with useful content and related services that strengthen their pursuit of their chosen hobbies and special interest activities. There is a "how to" underpinning to most of the content published by F+W, helping customers improve and maximize enjoyment.

This is what the Company does, and it has been doing it extraordinarily well for almost 100 years thanks to the commitment of employees and customers worldwide.

An important driver to the growth of F+W has been a strategically focused acquisition program that emphasizes adding publishing companies that bring to the portfolio a similar enthusiast or "how to" approach to content.

Since 1999, the Company has successfully completed the following acquisitions

D&C Group, Ltd. Devon, United Kingdom July 2000
